RIET Phagwara has a Graduate Department of Civil Engineering headed by Dr. Rajwinder Singh Bansal (M-Tech, Civil Engineering, PhD). Following the vision and considering its achievement as a mission, the department constantly focuses on the quality of teaching-learning and on result-oriented education. The field of civil engineering has a wide range of disciplines that are critical for the efficient, ethical and economic development of a country. Construction engineering is an integral part of a developing country and advances in construction, machinery and service. Though RIET follows IKGPTU curriculum, but to ensure that students develop the necessary skills necessary for the expanding role of the engineer as a service provider additional necessary Curriculum is also followed. This additional curriculum helps to instill scientific developments, reliability expectations, technological developments, in students for increasing his role in public administration and other factors.

Civil engineers are basically construction experts. They are the ones who understand how progress improves, how it reacts to development and its environmental effects. This powerful knowledge makes civil engineers indispensable in the nation-building scenario. You will find them working on roads, railways, airports, organisations, businesses, government and law enforcement agencies, and lecturing and doing research at universities around the world.
