In a united stand against the menace of drugs, Mrs. Manpreet Kaur Bhogal (Chairperson REC), Dr. Vyoma Bhogal Dhatt (Director of REC) along with Principal RIET, Dr. Naveen Dhillon, Principal RIMAS, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, Principal RIHSR, Mrs. Mandeep Kaur along with faculty members and students of RIET, RIMAS, and RIHSR participated in a Marathon Against Drugs organized by Punjab Police Kapurthala.
The event, which saw participation from over 2,000 students and residents of Phagwara, started from the School of Eminence in Phagwara, covering a 5-kilometer route through the city. The marathon aimed to create awareness about the harmful effects of drugs and galvanize the community towards a drug-free society.
SSP Kapurthala Gourav Tura flagged off the marathon, while Phagwara SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti, AAP Punjab Spokesperson Harnoor Singh Harji Mann, Chairperson REC, Mrs. Manpreet Kaur Bhogal, Director REC, Dr. Vyoma Bhogal Dhatt and other dignitaries graced the occasion. Participants were given free T-shirts, medals, and certificates as tokens of encouragement.
The marathon concluded with a vibrant program at the School of Eminence grounds, featuring cultural performances and games. Phagwara residents, shopkeepers, and social workers enthusiastically supported the participants by showering flowers and distributing juice bottles along the route.
Mrs. Manpreet Kaur Bhogal ( Chairperson REC) commended the students and staff of RIET for their active participation in this noble initiative. Speaking at the RIET campus, Dr. Vyoma Bhogal Dhatt ( Director REC) said, "It’s our collective responsibility to fight the menace of drugs. This marathon reflects the strength and unity of the youth and the community in creating a healthier, drug-free future."
